Mekki Osman & Partners

Firm Overview

MekkiOsman&Partners has provided legal advice to a variety of domestic and international clients, corporations, financial entities and government agencies since 1983. The firm merged with other two law offices from 2003 to 2010 then decided to break off and resume its practice counting on its history and collective expertise of its members. The firm is in close association with Sultan Al-Abdulla & Partners of Doha, Qatar.

The members of the law firm specializes on corporate, international business, oil & gas, mining, taxation, construction, mining, telecommunications and competition law, as well as on matters of international trade, administration, trademarks and copyrights, lobbying and the environment.

Although our lawyers specialize in different areas, their specialization does not narrow their scope of action. We have found that, at least initially, clients often prefer to seek advice from a single person who becomes familiar with them and with their matters. Therefore, the individual staff members maintain a marked personal involvement with all clients. The fact that a number of our collaborators have had international living experience entails our firm’s ability to muster a comprehensive understanding of international business and a tangible link to foreign and multicultural environments.

Our aim is to provide the best possible advice and service to our clients in an efficient, cost effective and practical manner, while at the same time preserving the elements of a personalized traditional legal advisor-client relationship.

Our practice is located in Khartoum, and includes substantial involvement in international and regional transactions. Our regional affiliations complement our practice, and have enhanced our ability to structure international ventures, assist businesses in establishing a presence in the Sudan and the region in general, and to advise our clients on their businesses in Sudan.

Our clients range from private individuals to large international corporations. Our offices and our exclusive cooperation links with African, Arab and international law firms have enabled us to serve a variety of overseas clients from varying industrial and commercial sectors.

Our scope of advice includes:
 Corporate mergers, acquisitions and dissolutions, liquidations, buy-outs and corporate re-engineering
 Advice on incorporation procedures and business management
 Joint ventures, business expansion and set-up of off shore companies
 Oil & Gas including upstream, midstream, downstream and related services
 Competition law
 Commercial agreements
 Banking & finance with focus of Islamic finance
 Labour and service contracts
